December 25th could have been the last of Kelly Hansome’s days, and so he had a lot to celebrate on January 18th 2012 as he celebrated his birthday stylishly in Abuja. The past year proved to be a difficult one for this Owerri born artist with all the media attention on him surrounding his beef with Chocolate City’s Jude Abaga, aka M.I. which led to a long feud. Added to that was the disagreement with his record label. Thankfully, the beef between Mr. Hansome and M.I. has been resolved and the two have had positive correspondence on twitter, and he is in the process of peacefully settling with the executives of his record label. Adding to the good news is the expectation of his soon to be released album. He has also received awards from the Association of Banking and Finance Students of the University of Abuja for his contributions to their department, and a U.K. based non-profit organization for his contribution to grass root development and youth empowerment projects through his foundation.
The birthday bash started off with a visit to an orphanage where brought gifts and had a party for the children. Later on that evening, the party moved to Hawton Suites, and executive hotel in Garki, where Mr. Hansome hosted some senators and other dignitaries at a private party. The night ended with an after party at D Grotto with his friends, fans, and well wishers.
This talented young man maintains a low key life in Abuja while working tirelessly in the studio to bring those songs that we love. We wish him the best in all his endeavors and hope to see more from him.
Happy Birthday Mr Hansome!!!
